Working with a range of local reclaimed materials, Thea Home Inc creates spaces that are not only warm and inviting but are also elegant and innovative. The design and build team gives every detail the attention it deserves. The simplicity and beauty guarantees a timeless, magnificent space.
This historical property, once owned by Charlie Chaplin, was a treat for Thea to design and renovate. Using mainly reclaimed materials, she maintained the aesthetics of Monterey Colonial with a fresh traditional flair.
Keeping true to this ranch style house built in 1949, Thea was innovative in reconfiguring space using custom stains to refinish existing surfaces to create a warm and homey feel while staying true to the history and beauty of the existing house. After the clients visited Valley Vista, they expressed to Thea that they wanted to capture the same feel. Thea drew her inspiration from Valley Vista while maintaining an awareness for the clients' personal desires. Thea's distinct palette and cutting-edge design worked together to make this the clients' and even perhaps your dream home.

One of Thea's strongpoints is her creative use of space. Elevating a simple bathroom to have custom details that give the owner the feeling of stepping into his or her own personal spa.
If you were to ask Thea where the heart of a home is, she would quickly tell you it's the kitchen. The design and build team specializes not only in the aesthetics of a space but in the functionality of it as well.
When Thea was asked to design for the Northwestern University President's house she knew it would be an exciting and different project. It was a project that required not only renovating a historic home (almost 100 years old) that was in total disrepair but also then furnishing it. This house before Thea got her hands on it was a warren of small dark rooms that Thea transformed into an open and inviting home. It is now regarded as one of the most elegant and functional Presidents houses in the country.
This house was typical of the Spanish style homes that were popular in Los Angeles in the 1920s. While the property’s foundation and history were superb, the house was in need of a major facelift. A tricky facelift on a conservation budget, at that, due to the home’s small size and young owner. The talented Thea Home team was extremely resourceful in their budgeting and sourcing of materials and furnishings in order to create a spectacular home within the tight parameters of the remodel. Thea Home completely reworked the space, thereby transforming a dark, cramped property into an open, inviting, and beautiful home.
